Let me begin by saying that I know just how cliche this is going to sound.
I always wanted to be an attorney. Truly.
Growing up I tore through every book by John Grisham, Richard North Patterson, and any other author who was able to depict courtroom drama at its finest. During my junior and senior years of high school I led our school's team in the New York State Mock Trial Tournament. Quite honestly, all other coursework took a back seat to sitting up late into the night preparing my opening statements and cross examinations. I can still remember being on cloud nine as I was finally able to stand in front of a (mock) jury and judge and channel the characters from all of those Grisham novels. I was hooked!
Unfortunately like so many young attorneys in an overcrowded legal market, I found myself in a position where the necessity to be employed outweighed the importance of being passionate about my career. I spent several years at a large Philadelphia firm working in both commercial and health effects litigation. Many of the matters on which I worked were immensely interesting and complex, yet I felt myself slowly losing the zest for being an attorney as I was generally part of only one small portion of a much larger case and had very limited client interaction.
Matt McConnell Law is the product of me re-discovering my passion. I get to be on the ground level with my clients, working hand-in-hand to solve your real world issues, whether it be for your business, your family, or your future.
